Pack a lunch and make a great day hike up to Salmon Lake - near Donner Summit. There are 3 lake that are great for swimming in after the hike. It is really beautiful. Go to this link for a map on how to get there. www.fs.fed.us/r5/tahoe/documents/rec/LochLevenROG.pdf
